Analysis of Available Information and Verification of Hypothesis:
most of the time that a scientist spends in training is devoted to learning how to analyze and interpret information. Qualitative as well as quantitative methods may be used for this purpose.
Prediction and Generalization of Results and Consideration of Alternative Methods: Once a model has been verified a theory is developed from the model to obtain a complete description of the problem.
