Types of Holons

The four major types of holons are:

  • Order holons
  • Product holons
  • Resource holons
  • Staff holons

Considering the cooperative aspect of these holons, this is essential that they are integrated in to Holonic information network through the application and information support to suit the Holonic system needs. Resource holons, Order holons, Product holons are major types while Staff holons serves as complementary holon to the basic individual. These four types of holon decide the whole taxonomy of the Holonic Manufacturing System. Integration of these four types of holons gives substantial information associated to the development of Holonic manufacturing control architecture. The interaction of such holons is identified by using the integration and the communication protocols. These are used to form a well-coordinated autonomous agent network. These holons' details with respect to accountability and responsibility of the system are illustrated as given below:
