Q. Type one Diabetes Mellitus?

Type 1 DM occurs in children and adolescents (6-14 yrs). In this disease, the body makes little or no insulin. Daily injections of insulin are needed. The exact cause is unknown. But genetics, viruses, and autoimmune problems may play a role. Previously, it was called as Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM). 5-10% of the total persons with diabetes suffer from T1DM.
