The atomic model of diffusion, Chemical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Explain with suitable diagrams the atomic model of diffusion.

Atomic Model of Diffusion

Diffusion happens as a result of repeated jumps of atoms from their sites to other neighboring sites. Even when atoms jump randomly, a net mass flow can happens down a concentration gradient, when a large number of like as jumps take place. The Unit step in the diffusion process is a single jump by the diffusing species. Diffusion could be of various types.
