Stopping distance of a hot wheels car-work and energy, Physics

Assignment Help:

Stopping Distance of a Hot Wheels Car

While the Hot Wheels car collides along with the box and skids to a stop, external forces do an important amount of work upon the car. The force of friction acts within the direction opposite the car's motion and therefore does negative work upon the car. This negative works contributes to a loss within mechanical energy of the car. Actually, if 0.40 Joules of mechanical energy are lost, then -0.40 Joules of work are completed upon the car. As this work is completed, the mechanical energy of the car (within the form of kinetic energy) is transformed within non-mechanical forms of energy like as sound and heat.
