Shamrock Organisation:

According to Charles Handy the 'Shamrock Organisation' used to apply a model to the workforce flexibility. There are three leaves of a shamrock were utilized to represent an organisations human resources.

a. The inner core of permanent key workers who maintain the company developing and operating for example, full-time professional staff

b. The contractual fringe or external labour for example, self-employed subcontractors or freelancers, are engaged to offer services as and while needed and frequently paid by results

c. The flexible or peripheral labour workforce for example, casual, temporary and-or part-time employees onto short-term contracts, considered as and when required.
