Assignment Help:

SOIL CLASSIFICATION

The purpose of any classification is to organise the knowledge and ideas of a given field in the best possible manner so that the relationships between different properties are understood and it provides means for future developments. Soils had been classified ever since human beings started using it as a media for plant growth.  In those terms it was called good or productive with respect to certain crops or bad or non-productive with respect to the others; or these were differentiated into heavy soils and light soils etc.  In terms of geological parent material it was categorised as sandy or clayey soils etc.
