Properties:
1. It is a white greyish metal.
2. It has a good tensile strength.
3. It is one of the most stable metals under combined action of corrosion and electrical erosion.
4. It does not corrode under most adverse atmospheric condition.
5. It can be easily drawn into wires.
Uses: Platinum finds application as a heating element in laboratory ovens and furnaces. Platinum-rhodium thermocouple is used for measurement of temperatures up to 16000C. It is also used as electrical contact material and as material for grids in special purpose vacuum tubes.
How we can calculate the magnitude of electric field above a sheet charged with voltage V where we know the bulk conductivity and relative permittivity of the space above the sheet
Explain Motion in 2 Dimensions When motion occurs in two dimensions, position, displacement and distance, speed, velocity and acceleration can be described using the x-y plane.
1.5 kg of Oxygen (N 2 ) and 0.15 kg of Helium (He 2 ) are separated by a partition in a vessel. The Nitrogen is at 5 bar and 90 o C and the Helium at 1 bar and 20 o C. The part
Capacitors: When a voltage is applied to a capacitive circuit there is a change in the electric flux. The ease with which this change takes place is a measure of the capacitan
The image of a candle is produced by a convex lens on a screen. The lower half of the lens is painted black to make it completely opaque. Illustrate the ray diagram to show the ima
In a young's double slit experiment the screen is 1 meter away from the slit, the separation between the slits is 1mm and the distance between the 1st and 4th fringe is 1.2mm. Find
