Q. Show the Importance of RISC Processors?
Reduced Instruction Set Computers recognize a comparatively limited number of instructions. One benefit of a reduced instruction set is RISC can execute the instructions very fast since these are so simple. Another benefit is that RISC chips need fewer gates and henceforth transistors that makes them cheaper to produce anddesign.
An instruction of RISC machine can be executed in one cycle because there exists an instruction pipeline. This canincrease the speed of instruction execution. Additionally control unit of RISC processor is smaller andsimpler so much so that it obtains just 6% space for a processor in comparison to Complex Instruction Set Computers (CISC) in which control unit inhabits about 50% of space. This saved space leaves much room for developing a number of registers.
This further improves the processing capabilities of RISC processor. It also requires that memory to register 'LOAD' and 'STORE' are independent instructions.

The address bus is unidirectional due to the address information is always given by the Micro Processor to address a memory location of an input or output devices.
What is memory mapped I/O? When the I/O devices share the similar address space, the arrangement is known as memory mapped I/O.
