Q. Show the characteristic of cache memory?

The essential characteristic of cache memory is its fast access time. So very little or no time should be wasted when searching for words in cache. Transformation of data from main memory to cache memory is termed as a mapping process. Mapping procedure for cache organization is of 3 types:

1.      Associative mapping

2.      Direct mapping

3.      Set-associative mapping
