The most obvious way that settlers contributed to Native American exploitation was simply infringing on their land and society, exposing the various tribes. Western setters brought with them war, disease and western culture, all of which contributed to the eventual displacement of the few remaining Native American tribes. In effect, the settlers made the Native Americans a people without a home and relocation efforts proved to be a series of broken promises.
