Robotic Arm Project, Electrical Engineering

Assignment Help:
This is basically a simple senior design project where the professors are giving us a limited budget and providing us with an Arduino Board. (We can use rasberry pi, beagle bone, ect, if you think this will work better for the project).

We''ve included our preliminary parts choices within the attached proposal. We just need to prove that these servo motors, angle sensors, distance sensor, force sensor, will work with our design intent and final weight of the design.

We figure that have a physical model with autocad or equivalent will aid us in having custom cut pieces made for the physical model. We think that lexan or another cheap plastic should work hopefully.

The idea is simple and should carry out a few tasks. The idea is that the robotic arm is located next to the bed of a bedridden patient, in front of a table, sitting on the table or mounted on the wall above the table, will be a pill dispenser which the robotic arm will activate at a timed interval and then administer the medication to the patient with a plastic cup.

An additional task, given that the above is successful, we would have the robotic arm access a a small plastic cup and access a water dispenser and set next to the patient as well.

Modeling would be done in matlab with simulations backing the design (or any other software that can do this), and implemented in Arduino or any board that will do the job within a limited budget.

Please let me know what you think when you get a chance to review details and if you need any more information, please let me know.

thank you
