Regulated Investment Company (RIC) - Commonly known as a MUTUAL FUND, this is a domestic corporation which acts as an investment agent for its shareholders by typically investing in government and corporate securities and distributing DIVIDENDS and INTEREST income earned from such investments. In order to be considered a RIC a CORPORATION should make an irrevocable election tax election in order to be treated as one.
