maintenance procedure is to prepare the facility register. The facility defines what is to be maintained. It gives the complete details of all the items and facilities which are to be maintained in the near future.

Preparation of Maintenance Schedule: It provides the useful information regarding the method time and place of maintenance work. It may also include information regarding manpower requirements. It gives complete time phasing of maintenance loading.

Preparation of History Card: As already explained it gives complete record of all repairs replacement and engineering changes carried out on equipment during its period of service. It records the frequency or occurrence of different types of faults the rate of wear or different components the total down time of equipment etc. The past information helps to plan the future maintenance actions.

a. Preparation of job Specification : Job specification is a document which provides the useful information regarding the maintenance work to be done. These job details are generally prepared from maintenance schedules already prepared. They are prepared separately for each job and serve to guide the maintenance people.
