Explain Precautions for Estimation of Sucrose by Fehling Soxhlet Method?
1. Maintain proper temperature of the water bath for complete hydrolysis.
2. Add distilled water to prevent charring of the sugar.
3. Completely neutralize the HCI in the hydrolyzed solution before titration.
4. Cool the contents of the conical flask before adding Na2CO3 in order to prevent brisk effervescence and spurting.
5. Clamp the burette so that the tip of the burette is exactly above the mouth of the conical flask.
6. Maintain continuous evolution of steam by heating of the conical flask to prevent reoxidation of Cu+ ions.
7. Each titration should be completed within three minutes.
