Define Precautions for Estimation of Cholesterol Using Zlatkis Method
1. Use aldehyde free glacial acetic acid.
2. Use only glacial acetic for making up and adjusting the volume. Do not use distilled water.
3. Allow 30 minutes for colour development.
4. Before taking the readings, if a coloured layer is formed in the test tube, make sure that the contents in the test tube are shaked and mixed well once again.
5. Make sure there are no air bubbles when taking the readings.
6. Be very careful while working with glacial acetic acid, since it is very toxic.
