POPULATION INVERSION and LUMINOUS FLUX:
POPULATION INVERSION: The process in which number of electrons (N ) in a higher2 energy state called metastable state of an active medium is increased to a value greater than the number (N ) in the ground state (i.e. N > N ) is called population inversion.
LUMINOUS FLUX : The amount of radiant (light) energy following from a source of light per unit time is called luminous flux or light flux (Φ) . It is measured in lumens.
LUMINOUS INTENSITY : Luminous intensity of a point source of light is defined as the luminous flux emitted from it per unit solid angle.
It is otherwise called Illuminating power (I). It is measured in candela (cd).
Forward Bias: When p-type material of a semiconductor diode is linked at positive potential and the n-type material is linked at negative potential of a voltage source, the dio
1.Consider the dangers of using a camp stove inside an enclosed space like a tent. Test data show that a high heat liquid fuel camp stove can dramatically increase CO mixing ratios
find time period and frequency of vibration of water level in a limb of manometer executing simple harmonic vibrations
what happens when a melt contains 1% ag with 99%pb?
In a Wheatstone bridge PQRS, a galvanometer is connected among Q and S and a voltage source between P and R. An unknown resistor Rx is connected among P and Q. When the bri
A box is divided into two parts of equal volume via a partition. The box is thermally insulated from the surroundings. Consider that compartment 1 contains an ideal gas A at P 0 ,
When an earthquake occurs, two types of sound waves are generated and travel through the earth. The primary, or P, wave has a speed of about 7.5 km/s and the secondary, or S, wave
Find the carrier distribution function in the impurity level that accounts for the spin degeneracy of the impurity states.
Tesla; T (after N. Tesla, 1870-1943): The derived SI unit of magnetic flux density, described the magnetic flux density of magnetic flux of 1 Wb by an area of 1 m 2 ; thus it
Q When calculate Planck's constant, a student's calculations produce values of 5.78 × 10 -34 J·s and 7.29 × 10 -34 J·s. If the accepted value is 6.63 × 10 -34 J·s, what is
