The study analyzes and compares a variety of markers (e.g., medical board actions and civil lawsuits filed with the National Practitioner Data Bank) of safety between physicians, PAs and advanced practice nurses. Results of the study will be useful to society in evaluating whether the policy to include PAs in the nation's health care system was a safe decision. Results will impact future policy and PA utilization.
