Perfluorocarbons (pfcs) - hydrocarbon, Chemistry

Assignment Help:

Perfluorocarbons (PFCs):

Perfluorocarbons (CnF2n+2) are acquired by controlled fluorination of vapourized alkanes diluted along with nitrogen gas in the existence of a catalyst.

Perfluorocarbons are non-polar, non-corrosive, colourless, extremely stable, odourless, non-toxic, unreactive gases and non-flammable, solids and liquids. These are stable also to ultraviolet radiations and other ionising radiations and hence, they do not detect the ozone layer such as freons.
