Overall Performance Indicator Method
Overall Performance Indicator could be derived from a combination of few of the specific core indicators. The way this combination is commonly performed is by a weighted average of core indices, whereas the weights reflect the significance assigns to every aspect of the firm performance, for a utility the weights might be assigned as per regulatory requirement/directive. These Indicator(s) give a summary index and establish the relationship among functions of different departments. Therefore it helps to communicate associate performance of wide stakeholders and a bridge the gap among different functions.
From a wider perspective, it helps the outside world to gauge the associative performance of various companies. For a utility, say regulator, might use these indicators to assess the associative efficiency of service companies.
