An electro-mechanical product for use in a vehicle has been in widespread use for some time and has proved popular with customers, in terms of its operational performance and price.

Most of the components of the product have performed acceptably in the past, when competitors were few, labour and materials were plentiful and energy was cheap. The "exploded-view" diagram below indicates the main features of the product and its main component parts.
