Question 1:

A bank is in the process of reviewing its IT Systems. It currently hosts a number of legacy systems which supports different aspects of its business functions namely Banking Accounts, Loans, Credit Card Management and Financial Management Systems. The legacy systems are not integrated with one another. The new IT Systems has to be an integrated system in order to provide fast and efficient reporting within the organization at practically all levels. Build and Information Architecture for the Integrated System and explain how the system will be made to perfectly align with the strategic objectives of the organization.

(a) Using an example of your own, explain how a corporate information system can provide competitive advantage to an organization.

(b) Explain why it is extremely important to consult all stakeholders in an organization before a Strategic Information Systems Plan is elaborated.

(c) Explain the difference between a Management Information System and a Decision Support System.
