Making an observation nest for ants

An observation nest for the study of the life story of ants can simply be made as follows.

Make a wooden U from three 30 cm lengths of wood 1.5 cm square. Mount this vertically in a suitable wooden base. Now cut rectangles of glass 30 cm x 33 cm and clamp them on every side of the U with rubber bands or some sort of metal clip
