Logistics - Inbound and Outbound:

Logistics plays a vital role in designing and shaping of SCM in a firm. Without an effective logistics system the effectiveness of the firms SCM channel is questionable. Logistic activity helps in enabling a broader view to be taken for handling the best available opportunity and how it is to be approached. If we understand and know the economics of logistics activities it is possible to review a number of production options that can include individual production (manufacturing of all of the components), assembling, or an ideal combo approach. The key players of logistics activity that in transportation and warehousing has been amply discussed and shall enable you to understand the nuance of choosing the right transport mode for the right product and equipment within the total gambit of cost effectiveness. We have discussed the issue pertaining to movement of logistics both in-bound and out-bound in the Indian scenario, within the scope of this unit per se. Last but not the least; we have described the designing and management of SCM and the key to effective SCM, the logistics.
