Is it necessary joints of concrete kerbs be in line with joints in concrete carriageway?

Answer

In regular practice, joints are provided in road kerbs to cater for concrete expansion and contraction. Though, location of joints in kerbs is not arbitrary and they must match with joints in concrete carriageway. Or else, it is extremely likely that cracks might form in concrete kerbs at place of pavement joints.
