Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus which included history taking, symptoms and signs and various tests which can be done to diagnose a case of diabetes. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) or diabetes is a chronic illness that requires continuous medical care to prevent acute complications and to reduce the risk of long-term complications. The laboratory assessment of a patient with diabetes should be done at baseline i.e. at first contact with the doctor and also needs to be monitored regularly throughout the course of the illness. In this unit you will learn about various investigations advised by the doctor for diabetic patients. It can be blood and urine investigations, eye check up, X-ray and ECG and learn about the glucometer. This will help you to advise the patient to go for regular check up and undergo investigations regularly.
