Inlet channel of the exchanger, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Inlet channel of the exchanger?

The inlet channel of the exchanger shall be designed to minimize flow turbulence and erosion of the refractory liner and the tube inlet area. The latter shall be protected by ferrules.

Channels shall be completely drainable. The outlet channel shall have a liquid sulfur drain.

Access for tube replacement and refractory maintenance shall be facilitated by removal of the bolted cover of the outlet channel.

Hinged 610 mm (24" NPS) clear manways for inspection and maintenance of refractory liner, tube ferrules, and tube-to-tubesheet joints shall be provided in the inlet and outlet channels. Manways shall have removable refractory plugs.
