Information System in Management
An attempt has been made in this Unit to explain to you the concept of a system , particularly computer-based Information Storage and Retrieval System. The different types of information systems were also briefly mentioned.
The structure of an information system, its life cycle were also described to give you an idea of the different phase that a system undergoes. Information Retrieval System its components and functions and capabilities have been explained.
General concept relating to information retrieval, computer -based aspects have also been emphasised. The need for IR System evaluation, together with the important measures used for the evaluation has systems have been examined in the body of this Unit Information Systems methodologies and issues relating to day-to day management of information systems have been briefly discussed.
