Features:-

Function point goes forward is independent of the language tools or methodologies used for implementation.
They are able to be estimated from requirement specification or design specification.
They are directly concurrent to the statement of requirements.
They are based on the system user's external view of the system, nontechnical users of the software system have a better understanding of what function points are measuring.
