Q. Illustrate biological effects of Patulin?

Biological activity: Patulin has an acute oral LD50 in rodents of about 30-50 mg/kg and has been shown to be teratogenic, immunotoxic and neurotoxic and to cause gastrointestinal disturbances in rats. Patulin is quite rapidly excreted from animals. It causes chromosomal aberrations in animal and plant cells and is a carcinogen.
