How is HIV transmitted? What is the disease caused by this virus?

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is supposed to be transmitted by blood, semen, maternal milk and vaginal secretions.

HIV is the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome), a disease divided by destruction of cells of the immune system making the body susceptible lots of opportunistic and severe diseases.
