Horizontally Launched Projectiles

Suppose a cannonball being launched from cannon atop a extremely high cliff. Imagine as well in which the cannonball does not encounter a important amount of air resistance. What will be the path of the cannonball and how could the motion of the cannonball be described? The animation below depicts like a situation. The path of the cannonball is displays; as well, the horizontal and vertical velocity elements are represented through arrows in the animation.
