Giger Muller counter (G.M tube)

the operation principle of G.M tube is even small amount of ionization produced by single beta ray entering the tube can trigger discharge ,producing a large pulse of electricity that can be counted electrically fig(3) .It of little used in medicine because it is inefficient for detecting gamma rays.
