Briefly summarize the elements of the Missouri Compromise; then, explain the purpose for the compromise and the political and social results of the compromise. Analyze how this act, along with the addition of new territories to the United States during this period, compromised this attempt to find a solution to the slavery issue and became a stepping-stone to the American Civil War
