Gallbladder in digestion process, Other Subject

The gallbladder stores and concentrates bile, a substance produced by the liver that aids in the digestion of fats. It does not secrete bile .Bile breaks down fats and coats them with a substance that allows lipases to bind better. An increased and disproportionate concentration of bile can lead to the formation of gall bladder stones.
