Assignment Help:

functions of triglycerides

The functions of triglycerides are as given

(a) Triglycerides are energy reserves in the cells and tissues of living procedure. While digested, triglycerides are hydrolysed to fatty acids and glycerol.

(b) Catabolism of fatty acids makes acetyl-coenzyme-A. So many powers of fatty acids is changed into ATP.

(c) Acetyl coenzyme is the primary substance for the synthesis of many compounds.

(d) Fats dropped under the skin and around the internal organs minimize loss of body heat and also act as cushions to absorb mechanical impacts.
