Assignment Help:

Find the Maximum Allowable Size of the Milling Cutter

 Find the maximum allowable size of the milling cutter if it is to rotate at 65 rpm while the cutting speed is 20 m/min.

Solution

Vc = 20 m/min

N = 65 rpm

We know

V c  = π DN/1000 m/min

D = Vc × 1000 / π N = 20 × 1000/ π × 65 = 98 mm
