Field Lines

A field line is a locus in which is described through a vector field and a beginning location within the field. Field lines are meaningful for visualizing vector fields that are otherwise hard to depict. Remember that, like longitude and latitude lines on a globe, or topographic lines on a topographic map and these lines are not physical lines which are actually present at certain locations; they are merely visualization tools.
