Q. Facilitated Application Specification Technique?

A team oriented approach is developed for needs gathering and is called facilitated application specification Techniques FAST This approach supports the creation of a joint team of customers and developers who work together to understand the expectations and propose of set of requirements. The fundamental guidelines of FAST are given below:

  • Arrange a meeting at a neutral site for developers as well as customers.
  • Establishment of the rules for preparation and participation.
  • Prepare as well as informal agenda that encourages free flow of ideas.
  • Appoint a facilitator to manage the meeting. A facilitator may be a developer or a customer and or an outside expert. Organize a definition flip chart, mechanism-Board, worksheets and wall stickiest and so on.
  • Participants must not criticize or debate.
