Explain working of bit serial associative processor, Computer Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Explain working of Bit Serial Associative Processor?

When associative processor accepts bit serial memory organization subsequently it is known as bit serial associative processor. As just one bit slice is included in the parallel operations, logic is extremely much decreased and so this processor is much less expensive than fully parallel associative processor.

PEPE is an illustration of distributed associative processor which was intended as a special purpose computer for performing real time radar tracking in a missile environment. STARAN is an illustration of a bit serial associative processor that was designed for digital image processing. There is a high cost and performance ratio of associative processors. Because of this reason these haven't been commercialised and are limited to military applications.
