If we had a satellite snapshot of the two regions around 1700, it would clearly show that the New England and Chesapeake colonies were very different kinds of places, with very different ways of life and very different societies. This is so in spite of the fact that they began within a few years of each other and were founded and developed by people of the same nationality.
Explain three major ways in which these regions differed from each other in about 1700.
