Explain the term - primary memory and hard disk

A peculiar situation arises when the existing server arrives at a stage when it cannot handle the requests quickly and most of its time is spent handling the threads or tasks as well as swapping the processes between primary memory and hard disk for want of more and more memory space. This is an indication that the server immediately requires more resources and that it has become overloaded.
