Explain the Secondary Active Transport

In secondary active transport, there is no direct coupling of ATP; instead the electrochemical potential difference created by pumping ions out of the cells is used. This is an ingenious device used by the cells to utilize the active transport of one substance to drive the uphill transport of one or more other substances as well.
