Explain the operation of 8:1 multiplexer.

Ans:

In this multiplexer 8 Input and 1 Output and three select lines i.e. S₂, S₁, S₀are given. Any one of the inputs will be selected and transmitted to the output depending on the combination of the select lines, for example If S₂S₁S₀ = 001, so information present on I₁ line will be transmitted to the output.
