Which of the following best explains what would happen if recombination (crossing-over) happens during mitotic prophase?

A. Recombination during mitosis will lead to segregation errors during anaphase.

B. Metaphase will be adversely affected due to the chromosomes will no longer be able to properly line up with the metaphase plate. 

C. The cells of tissues and organs will be a mixture of dissimilar allelic combinations (mosaic) rather than being of a uniform genetic content. 

D. The daughter cells will all be identical to each other as is the case in normal mitotic cell cycles.
