(a) Show how operations management can contribute to the success of an organization.

(b) Explain the factors determining the sequencing of jobs.

( c) A machine consists of two work centres, namely cutting and assembling. The job has to be processed by each work centre : cutting first and then assembling.

There are seven jobs to be processed by each work centre. The processing time for each job through the first and second work centres are given below. Using Johnson's rule, sequence the jobs.

Explain each step and draw a bar chart to depict the sequence of jobs.
