Explain Submarginal Scalloped Rectangular - Limited Mucoperiosteal Flaps

- Modification of Rectangular flap in that the Horizontal incision placed in the buccal and labial attached gingiva instead of the gingival sulcus.

- The Horizontal incision is scalloped, 2-4 mm from attached gingiva

- Advantages: doesn't involve marginal gingive and interdental gingival

- Disadvantages: the vertically oriented blood vessels and collagen fibers are severed; resulting in more bleeding and greater flap-shrinkage potential, delayed healing, and scar formation.
