Explain polymerisation vinyl chloride and its applications.
PVC and its applications - It is acquired from polymerisation of vinyl chloride in the presence of a catalyst as peroxides at about 500C. The properties are as mechanical strength, flexibility, porosity, electrical and moisture absorption properties can be changed through adding certain materials. PVC has fine mechanical and electrical properties. This is hard and brittle. It resists flame, most solvents and sunlight. It is non-hygroscopic. PVC is widely used as insulation and jacketing material for cables and wires. PVC films, sheets and tapes are used as insulation for conduit pipes and dry batteries.
Properties of good refractory material: The requirements of refractories for different furnaces and heating places depend on the working conditions. Nature of slag formed, maximum

An electron in the conduction band Has a higher energy than an electron in the valence band
1. a)Explain the construction and working of catalytic converter with a neat diagram. b) How much of rise in temperature of water occurs when 0.222 kg of a fuel is burnt in bom
Free Electron theory of metals This theory tells that, metals conduct electricity due to the presence of free electrons in it. The outermost shells of metal atoms will be loose
A tank contains cold water at a temperature Tc = 20°C and volume Vc = 1 m3. You add a volume Vh = 1 m3 of water at temperature Th = 100°C at time t = 0. Energy is lost from the tan
