Explain physical layer of osi reference model, Computer Networking

Assignment Help:

Q. Explain physical layer of Osi reference model?

- The physical layer deals among the physical characteristics of the transmission medium.

- It defines the mechanical, electrical, procedural and functional specifications for maintaining, activating and deactivating the physical link between end systems.

- Such characteristics like timing of voltage changes, voltage levels, physical data rates, maximum transmission distances, physical connectors and other similar attributes are defined by physical layer specifications.

- Instances RJ45, EIA/TIA-232 and NRZ
