Explain Monocytes - Types of White Blood Cells

They are motile and occasionally show phagocytic activity. They form only 5% of leukocytes, capable of providing more phagocytic defence.  They circulate in the blood only for few hours and migrate into tissues change into macrophages. Note monocytes evolve into macrophages.
